FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Physician to Discuss Guiding People Through The Medical Maze

OAKLAND COUNTY, Michigan (March 11, 2013) – Dr. Abigail Schildcrout, founder of Practical Medical Insights, will be the interviewed guest on the Conversations In Care web radio broadcast on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 2:00pm EDT, to discuss how individuals can maintain control within the medical realm.

Practical Medical Insights is a consulting service designed to keep clients in the driver’s seat and on the right track for themselves as they navigate through the medical system.  Dr. Schildcrout developed Practical Medical Insights as an answer to the decreasing amount of time doctors are able to spend with their patients and their patients’ families.  The typical primary care physician will frequently see 20 to 30 or more patients each day.  The Affordable Care Act is adding millions of people to the ranks of the insured, and while this helps millions of people, the time and energy most physicians are able to devote to any individual patient will continue to decrease.

Dr. Schildcrout founded Practical Medical Insights to help guide patients through the Medical Maze.  She works as a personal medical advocate, giving her clients the time and attention that their doctors cannot, and provides clients with the information and tools they need to get the most out of appointments, conversations and relationships with their doctors.  She provides personalized guidance, research, education and advocacy.

Join Dr. Schildcrout on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 2:00pm EDT to learn more about how she helps her clients act quickly and prudently within the medical system.  You can join the live conversation with Dr. Schildcrout and host Tami Neumann, or use the same link to listen to the program later if you are unable to join the program live.

From Dr. Schildcrout:

Dr. SchildcroutI'll give you the time and attention that your doctors can’t give you, and in so doing, give you the tools to get the most out of your appointments, conversations, and relationships with your doctors.

I am here for people who want help taking charge of their own or their loved one’s health. I will teach you, guide you, and coach you. I will help you communicate skillfully within the medical world. You will become knowledgeable, savvy, and tough as you become your own best advocate. You will understand your doctors better, so that you can maximize what you get out of your office visits, and you will understand how hospitals work, so that you can get safe, optimal treatment when hospitalized and after you leave the hospital. I will be at your side, either figuratively or literally, guiding you, stepping in when necessary to break through medical red tape, and communicating directly with doctors and other medical personnel when necessary or preferable.

I care, and I am here for you.
